Real Madrid extend Odegaard’s contract …

After Martin Odegaard had affirmed that he’s increased the length of his stay at Real Madrid, it’s now known that the midfielder’s new contract will run to 2021.

Currently on loan at Heerenveen, the attacking midfielder’s deal was due to run out at the end of the season.

“A little more than 2018, at least,” Odegaard told VG Sporten about his contract situation.

“I don’t want to say much more at the moment.”

An extension to the youngster’s contract is be no surprise given the time and capital invested in his potential by Real, which is yet to be realised at this early stage in his career.

With Vinicius Jr, Dani Ceballos and Theo Hernandez signed up over the summer, Madrid clearly have an eye on the future with Odegaard’s release clause increased along with this extension.
