Spain earn a record

Asense of euphoria surrounded the Spain squad after a resounding 8-0 victory in Liechtenstein, which became their most emphatic away win in history.

Previously, the record had been shared by three results: two 6-0 wins on the road against San Marino and another in Azerbaijan, while La Roja have also won 10-0 against Tahiti at a neutral venue during the 2013 Confederations Cup in Brazil.

Liechtenstein have now conceded more goals against Spain than against anyone else in their history, with goalkeeper Peter Jehle has conceded each of them, having debuted for the minnows in 1998.
